Misato Sekka from Akita

Misato Sekka (Lavandula angustifolia)

Lavender is an herb from the mint family that, since long ago, has been used in medicine, cooking and other areas.
These days it is a popular fragrance that is often used in aromatherapy.
Lavender is said to restore balance to the autonomic nerves and to have a relaxing effect. It is used for a wide range of purposes, including bathing, as a room fragrance and in massage oil. Misato Sekka was discovered in Misato Town, Akita Prefecture.
It is an original variety of lavender that was registered in 2013. It is a rare white lavender that blossoms in summer. Its name refers to the idea of seeing beautiful snowflakes ("sekka" in Japanese) in Misato Town in early summer. The aroma has the characteristic refreshing nature of lavender and a distinctive gentle sweetness.
