Hinoki cypress from Japan

Hinoki cypress (Chamaecyparis obtusa)

In forestry, the Hinoki cypress is the second most planted variety after the Japanese red cedar.
It is widely distributed in Japan, from Fukushima Prefecture in the north to Kagoshima in the south.
Due to its pleasant aroma and durability, it is widely used in daily life as a building material, for bath tubs, sake containers and kitchen products.
